Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem Trailer Review

TMNT Mutant Mayhem

Mutant Mayhem putting the teenage back in TMNT

What a movie trailer! The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem trailer has dropped, and it’s shell-tastic. Clocking in at only one-minute and thirty-eight seconds, it’s crazy how much content is jam-packed into it. So, let’s unpack it. The trailer opens up with Can I Kick It by A Tribe Called Quest, which immediately sets the energy for the movie. The vibes definitely take a note from the original 90s TMNT movies. But this time, instead of adults in rubber costumes, it’s young actors energetically voicing the beloved Turtles over beautifully done animation.

Everything from the music to the teenage antics shows us what kind of film this will be – a coming-of-age film. Seth Rogen is voicing the character of Bebop as well as taking on a significant producer role behind the scenes. He got his start making teenage entertainment like Superbad and Freaks and Geeks, and with this film continues to stay true to who he is, a self-proclaimed “permanent teenager”.

The cast of the brothers is fairly new to the screen, but from what we can see, they are giving it the genuine treatment. Being a Nickelodeon studio animation film, Mutant Mayhem still comes with big names such as; Jackie Chan, Ice Cube, John Cena, Giancarlo Esposito, Maya Rudolph, and even Post Malone. Needless to say, we here at The House of Nerd Show are excited to see the Turtles back on the big screen.
